My philosophy on teaching and on how people learn to play the game of golf has evolved over the past 30 years of working with some of the worlds best teachers, attending dozens of seminars and teaching summits and of course the hands on experience gained from teaching golfers of all abilities. My teaching philosophy is based upon the following principals:

  • Each of my students must understand that learning to play golf or improving their skill level is a “process” and the “process” cannot be shortcut.
  • Every student must be examined and treated on an individual basis and with an approach that takes into consideration their age, gender, body type, physical and athletic ability, learning style and most importantly their personal goals in golf.
  • Sound biomechanics are a pre requisite for the physical motion required to perform an efficient, repeatable and dependable golf swing.
  • The process of detecting and correcting swing mechanics must be founded on science and fundamentals and not “preference” in order to achieve long term results. Therefore, “What” I teach is based upon the fundamentals found in every accomplished player and that begins with a grip that is compatible with a square clubface and the correct wrist position at impact, followed with a setup and posture that establishes the required alignments and relationships between the body, golf club and ball, and finally, an on plane delivery that is timed and sequenced to produce a leveraged and powerful release at impact.
  • Optimizing the performance of any player requires an approach that accurately evaluates and adjusts: their swing mechanics, the matrix and fit of their equipment, their biomechanical function and golf specific fitness, psychological strengths and weakness and finally, their specific nutritional requirements.
  • Each student must be given a personalized strategy or plan, based upon an integrated approach that clearly indicates the process by which the student can begin to close the gap between “what is” and “what needs to be” in order to reach his or her goals in golf.
